Joseph in Long Beach, CA had these brushes...

Ringo Starr at Maui Airport in May 1987.
A buddy I was with says "that's not Ringo,
he just kinda looks like Ringo"
Then this woman walks up to him and I say,
"Yeah and she's not Barbara Bach,
she just kinda looks like her."

I saw Richard Moll - co-star of TV's "Night Court"
at a party in Hollywood circa 1993.
I didn't recognize him at first
because he had long hair and whiskers

Kurt in Alamitos Beach, CA had these brushes....

I walked by Peter Bonerz (Dr. Jerry Robinson)
and Jack Riley (Mr. Carlin) of The Bob Newhart Show
while they were having a smoke outside at the Queen Mary
in Long Beach (1978) - I also found $5.00 on the ground
right after that...on the same night

In the late 1980s, some friends and I used to help
make sandwiches and hand them out to the homeless
on skid row in downtown LA - all the preparations were
done up in Altadena at the home of Johnny Otis.
Johnny Otis is one of the great bandleaders of all-time,
but he's also an excellent visual artist. One Saturday morning we
were making sandwiches and Johnny was at his dining room
table drawing a cartoon...and he called me over
and asked me if his cartoon looked OK and whether
one of the panels needed more work.

I saw author Alex Haley at a restaurant in Los Angeles - 1980s

I saw Elton John up in the announcer's booth
at a Who concert at Anaheim Stadium - 1976

I saw actor George Clooney at a restaurant in Thousand Oaks - 2002

I shook the hand of children's TV host Hobo Kelly
at a McDonald's restaurant in the mid-1960s

As a staff member for my college newspaper, I had the good fortune to attend a press
conference for the release of Captain Beefheart's album "Ice Cream for Crow"
A bunch of us college newspaper people got to spend a good two hours hanging out
with Beefheart in a darkened room at Warner Bros. Records - I'd brought my
portable cassette recorder and was taping the proceedings while seated
directly in front of (and slightly to the left) of Beefheart.
About halfway through the proceedings, Beefheart started to complain about a faint whining
sound and pinpointed my cassette recorder as the cause of the noise.. Without hesitating,
Beefheart whipped out his own mini-cassette recorder (from a brown paper grocery sack)
and handed it to me.."Here...use this", he said. - I taped the remainder of the
press conference on his little machine, but lost the cassettes somewhere...
Here's a scan of a baseball he signed for me...Van Vliet '82

Robert in Southern California had these brushes...

Saw actor Jack Klugman at Hollywood Park in 1974,
enjoying the races, having a beer and eating a hotdog

Saw comedian Don Rickles at Dodger Stadium (1977)

Saw rocker Gene Simmons at LA Glamourcon (2003)

Saw fighter Iran Barkley in Las Vegas.
Barkley was surprized that my small Cambodian
friend actually recognized him

Saw LA T-Birds captain Ralph Valladares, eating
a roast beef sandwich at Los Alamitos Race Track (1975)

Saw Jim Marshall of the Minnesota Vikings
at a baseball card shop in Anaheim, CA - 1988

Saw baseball legend Ernie Banks
while driving on the 405 Freeway (2002)

Sean in Weston, MA had these brushes...

I remember going to the movies with my mom
once to see "Splash," starring Tom Hanks and
Daryl Hannah.
About four years later, my mom and I were walking up
Fifth Avenue in NYC and I noticed Daryl Hannah and a
friend were walking in our direction. After they
passed, my mom said, "THAT GIRL LOOKS JUST LIKE THE
GIRL FROM 'SPLASH.'"

One evening back in 1984 or so, I was riding the
elevator to the movie theatres at the Beverly Center.
Rickie Lee Jones (is that greatness?) walked in with a
man. They both stared sullenly at the floor; I guess
they had just had a fight or something.
